Seamless Stainless Steel Tube

Stainless steel seamless tube is supplied for heat exchangers, boilers, instrumentation and general engineering service where outside diameter and wall thickness are normally the primary dimensions. Available range: outside diameter 6–257 mm and wall thickness 0.5–35 mm. The service determines the standard: ASTM A213/ASME SA213 is commonly ordered for boiler, superheater and heat-exchanger tube, while ASTM A269 covers general-service austenitic tubing; special alloys may require another specification. State the grade/UNS, governing standard, OD, wall, length, finish, heat treatment, NDT and document requirement in the RFQ.

Quick Specification

Product formSeamless stainless steel tube
Size rangeOutside diameter 6–257 mm · wall thickness 0.5–35 mm
Typical standardsASTM A269; ASTM A213; ASTM A312 / ASME SA312. General requirements: ASTM A1016 / ASME SA1016.
DocumentsEN 10204 3.1 mill test certificate standard; 3.2 on request; heat-number traceability per certificate.

Tube vs pipe

Seamless tube is ordered by exact outside diameter and wall thickness with tighter dimensional precision for heat exchangers, boilers and instrumentation lines. Seamless pipe is ordered by nominal pipe size (NPS) and schedule for pressure piping and process lines. For pressure-piping service, view the Seamless Stainless Steel Pipe category.

RFQ Checklist

Include the following in your request for quotation so the offer states the ordered standard, edition and test basis:

  • Grade and UNS designation
  • Governing standard and edition (for example ASTM A312-25 / ASME SA312)
  • Outside diameter
  • Wall thickness (or schedule for pipe)
  • Length: fixed, random or mill lengths
  • Quantity and delivery schedule
  • Surface finish: pickled, annealed or polished
  • NDT: hydrostatic, eddy-current or ultrasonic testing
  • Certification documents: EN 10204 3.1 or 3.2
