Index scope and reference standards
This index contains 94 designation records: 45 stainless, 18 duplex and 31 nickel alloy entries. References include ISO/EN, ASTM, JIS and GB/T designation and product standards. A recorded reference set or historical check mark is not proof that every field has been verified. Targeted corrections on 15 October 2026 include C-2000 Mo, 321 Ti, selected chemistry limits and mechanical size/condition branches. Remaining chemistry/designation checks are pending.
ASTM A789/A789M-24 Table 4 applies to the displayed duplex tube properties; A790 pipe values can differ. Selected other source editions are stated in the corrected record. Empty fields mean no verified entry is supplied here; absence of a standard equivalent has not been established for every blank.
How the Grade Index Works
One trade name may return several UNS records: 2205 includes S31803 and S32205 with different compositions. A shared name or EN number does not establish interchangeability or dual certification.
- Confirm the exact UNS and product standard.
- Check size, manufacturing route and heat treatment before using property values.
- Confirm approximate or unverified designations; blanks do not prove that no equivalent exists.
- Historical review notes do not certify all 94 records.

Frequently Asked Questions
Which designation systems does the search support?
Common / trade names (2205, 2507, 904L, 254 SMO, Inconel 625, Hastelloy C-276…), UNS numbers, EN / W.Nr. numbers, EN chemical-composition names, JIS grades and GB/T designations in both the new (e.g. 022Cr23Ni5Mo3N) and legacy (e.g. 1Cr17Mn6Ni5N) formats.
Are equivalent grades always direct substitutions?
No. Chemistry, product form and delivery requirements can differ. “Approx.” means a near match. Verify the governing standard and MTC before substitution.
How can I check the verification basis?
Open “View verification basis & date” for the review date, references and listed product specifications. Approximate matches and unchecked coverage require confirmation.
Why are some fields empty?
No verified entry is supplied. A blank may be unrecorded, pending verification or undefined by the relevant standard; it does not prove that no equivalent exists.
